A trip to Mysore with Colleague

A Travelogue

Someone said, life is like a coin, you can spend it in anyway you want but you can spent it only once. I feel I have spent a day of my life in the companion of a great team on Christmas. Early morning at 6 on the 25th of December when people were seen coming out of church and groups of hunk enjoying the early morning tea and cigarettes by the gas station at MG road I was quietly waiting for the bus outside symphony theatre. LET team planned for a day trip to Mysore and the pickup started from Symphony theatre, MG road and ended at E-city after few pick up at towers office. All were in the bus by 9.00 and we left for mysore after a quick breakfast at a fast food near towers office. We first went to a temple called Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple and on the way saw a stone engraved – “The place where Tipu died”, the stone was neatly fenced. One can imagine the pain and bloodshed during those battles.

The old temple was amazing and built completely on stones. The queue was long to get blessing but Bagya never gave up and stood along with other devotees. Others took a stroll around the temple. Libin and Sanjay at the right time did quite a show by dancing to the music from their own vocal. Libin almost broke his ankle doing a twist. The dancing was all captured in a video and is due to be released soon. The team is actually looking for a producer? Any takers?
Later on we went to Triveni Sangam where two rivers meet namely, cauvery and arkavati. The location where the two river meets are revered very holy and people come here to pray. The views are beautiful and many were bathing in the holy river, perhaps the bathe, I heard from a friend, is believed to wash away sins. After watching people wash their sins we headed towards Mysore. In the bus we were watching a Tamil movie in which Kamal Hassan was playing a cop and Bala was translating to all the non Tamil speakers. All were whistling and shouting on most of the scenes. By the time we reached Mysore everybody was starving. We went to a modest restaurant and had delicious lunch. Everybody ordered their own meals. Surendra was wise enough to bring in the menu while in bus and a waiter came and took the order.

We went to see St Philomena’s church and no wonder it was crowded as it should be on a day of Christmas. Quickly after that everybody got into the bus to Palace as time were running short and we have still to cover Brindavan Gardens. The Palace were awesome and it is a must see for every one. The architecture and the carvings on the pillar were meticulous and wonderful. Staring at one particular door made me think how long it would have taken to complete just one door. My guess is it would have taken at least few months. Sad that camera were not allowed inside the palace!! Brindavan Garden is the place where the excitement and the fun fare started. Few also had to do some policing work. We realised after visiting the Palace that Ananth’s mobile is lost but we though it was just lost, perhaps misplaced or left in the restaurant we had lunch earlier. Later on we came to know that Bala’s cigarette pack was also missing from his bag. After searching we found the pack of cigarette pack in the driver’s cabin and our suspicion naturally went towards the driver and the cleaner who were in the bus when we were out. Few stayed back to do a search and luckily got the mobile back. Apart from those who stayed back all the other had enjoyed the evening in Brindavan Gardens. A boat ride, scintillating talks and beautiful dancing fountains, glittering in different colours are a feast to the eyes. Guys wanted to get little tipsy but it was a no-no from Ananth but everybody still had loads of fun and enjoyed as if there were no tomorrow. When we reached Bangalore everybody was saying “see you in office” as though the trip was not enough.
Memories of a wonderful trip have perhaps been burnt on the hard disc of everybody’s shoulder top and when they open the file after 20 years they might perhaps have forgotten the name but would definitely smile and say “yes, we had fun that day.”

In Office

It is boring to work on Sundays.
But i still got up and with some aspiration went to office.
Nothing seems to be bright
Lets hope for the best.

my valentine

Would it be the same I would wonder
If she knows that I am in love with the girl
from the land of yonder
Should I disclose my feelings now or it would be never
It would perhaps be never as the chances are very fewer
I meet her almost everyday
I would watch her from my distant bay
Wonderful she looks when she smile
And when she smiles, she smiles a mile
And kills me everyday
Perhaps many more also dies every day
When she smile a mile from a distant bay

For whom the angel will fall
Only time will tell, when the age climbs tall
We perhaps may not make it together
You from the distant land of fairies and feather
And I from the deep hell of drudgery
But a prayer I shall say in this life with bravery
So that we meet in the life’s next episode
Together then we shall sing songs never sung
And kiss the unkissed kisses and erode Into eternity of TRUE LOVE
